Sikkim lies sandwitched between the two Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan (to the east) and Nepal to the west). Sikkim boasts of Mt. Kanchenjunga, which at 8568 m. is the third highest mountain in the world. Despite its having joined the Indian Union of States in 1975, Sikkim has maintained its rich cultural heritage. Sikkim's beautiful landscape is especially appealing to adventure travellers. None can deny the charm of springtime in Sikkim when beautiful Himalayan birds sing amidst blooming rhododendrons and orchids. Sunny and clear autumn days offer unimpeded views of the majestic Himalayan range. A well organized trip to Sikkim can be an unforgettable experience for those interested in the Himalayas and its flora and fauna.

Darjeeling has been a popular get away for lovers of nature since the days of the British rule. Rich rhododendron forests, miles of undulating hills covered with lush tea gardens, and exotic forests of silver firs, call combine to make Darjeeling one of the best hill resorts in the subcontinents.
